The waste recycling rate at our domestic business site (Iksan) in 2025 is approximately 90%, and we are continuing our efforts to increase our recycling rate of waste organic solvents.
In 2026, we will contribute to achieving a circular economy through continuous activities to improve our waste recycling.

Establishment of a Waste Resource Circulation System

Solus Advanced Materials operates a waste resource circularity system focused on waste recycling and the recovery and recycling of volatile organic compounds. In particular, by recovering and recycling waste volatile organic compounds generated during the OLED material production process, the Company promotes resource circularity and minimizes waste generation.

Furthermore, through its waste management system (Olbaro System), the Company manages the entire process from generation to final disposal, while conducting regular on-site inspections of waste transport and disposal contractors to verify their compliance with regulations and ensure process reliability.

The Company is also continuously identifying recyclable resources and expanding its network of recycling partner companies to reduce the generation of waste requiring incineration or landfilling. As part of these efforts, it has implemented practical resource circularity initiatives, such as converting waste synthetic resin previously disposed of through incineration into recyclable waste streams.
Through these efforts, the Company enhances resource efficiency within its workplaces and continuously advances its waste resource circularity system, thereby contributing to realizing a circular economy.

Identification of EHS-Related Laws and Regulations and Response Strategies

Solus Advanced Materials conducts quarterly regulatory reviews on a regular basis to systematically manage the enactments and amendments of environmental, health, and safety (EHS)-related laws and regulations, such as the Chemical Substances Control Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

For each workplace, the Company analyzes the applicable laws and regulations and the potential impact of amendments, derives necessary response measures, and manages their implementation. Furthermore, the results of these reviews and the status of responses are regularly reported to management, enabling the operation of a management system linked to company-wide decision-making. Through this process, the Company proactively prevents the risk of non-compliance and responds preemptively to the changing regulatory environment.

The Company manages the results of regulatory reviews and the status of responses through regular reports, including the following key points:

Safety, Health, and Shared Growth Management

        • 1. Overview

Solus Advanced Materials systematically manages safety, health, and environmental risks across the entire supply chain through collaboration with resident partner companies, thereby realizing sustainable and mutually beneficial management.

Through preventive activities involving its partner companies—such as operating the Safety and Health Consultative Group, conducting joint emergency response drills, and performing risk assessments and environmental impact assessments together—the Company proactively identifies and mitigates potential risks within its workplaces.

In addition, the Company regularly reviews and improves these activities to continuously strengthen its ESG risk management system with partner companies.

        • 2. Operation of the Safety and Health Consultative Group with Contractors

In accordance with Article 64 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Company holds monthly meetings (12 times a year) of the Safety and Health Consultative Group at its research laboratories and factories.

Through these meetings, the Company identifies potential hazards within the workplace from diverse perspectives and continues to pursue mitigation activities for these identified hazards, thereby enhancing the overall safety standards of the workplaces.

        • 3. Conducting Joint Emergency Response Drills with Contractors

To ensure a swift and systematic response in the event of an emergency at a workplace, the Company regularly conducts joint emergency response drills, including employees from partner companies.

The drills are conducted based on various scenarios, such as strikes, storm and flood damage, fires and explosions, and chemical spills, and are designed to ensure that all participants clearly understand the response procedures and roles for each situation.

Through this effort, the Company is enhancing the emergency response capabilities of all members, including its partner companies, and improving its ability to respond effectively in the event of an actual accident.

        • 4. Support for Contractors' Risk Assessment (Iksan plant)

In accordance with Article 36 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Comapny provides annual support for the preparation of regular risk assessments for on-site partner companies at the Iksan plant, including cleaning/maintenance, cafeteria, and molding processes contractors.
This enables the Company to systematically identify potential hazards and risks that may arise in various workplace tasks and environments.

In particular, recognizing the process characteristics involved in handling volatile organic compounds such as toluene and acetone during the production of OLED materials, the Company conducts assessments of its molding processes and cleaning/maintenance work, focusing on the risks of fire, explosion, and exposure to hazardous substances associated with the handling of chemicals. Through this assessment process, the Company identifies potential risk factors by considering the work procedures for each process and the physical and chemical properties of the substances handled, continuously conducting accident prevention activities.

Meanwhile, for cafeterias operated by outsourced catering companies, risk assessments are conducted focusing on hazards tailored to the kitchen environment, such as burns from the use of open flames and high-temperature equipment, slips and falls, and cuts to the hands. Through this approach, the Company implements customized safety management activities that match the specific nature of each task and is working to improve safety and health standards across all partner companies in a balanced manner.

        • 5. Assessment and Management of Partner Companies’ Safety Capabilities

In accordance with Article 61 (Selection of Qualified Contractors, etc.) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, Solus Advanced Materials conducts preliminary assessments of partner companies’ occupational safety and health management capabilities and regularly monitors their management standards through periodic safety capability evaluations.

The assessment results are directly reflected in the selection and management of partner companies, and only those meeting or exceeding certain standards are granted eligibility to participate in bidding. Outstanding partner companies are awarded bonus points in bidding and are given priority negotiation opportunities.

Conversely, for underperforming partner companies, the Company is working to improve their management standards by assisting them in developing improvement plans, conducting inspections, and providing training, and is taking additional measures, such as restricting transactions, when necessary.
Through these efforts, the Company is enhancing partner companies' autonomous safety management capabilities and systematically managing occupational safety and health risks across the entire supply chain.
